Open to ALL Dancers (time tba) – Beginner Level East Coast Swing Formation Team (to Holiday Music) to be performed at the Academy’s HOLIDAY BALL on December 13th and the King Kamehameha Golf Course (aka “Marilyn Monroe” House). Excellent opportunity to improve your dancing in East Coast Swing no matter what level you are starting at! Beginners are welcome! Discounted dance classes – commitment of time, desire, practice and small financial contribution is necessary! Dance Partners are necessary. Great experience!

10/23/08 – THURSDAY

Salsa Dancing at Lulu’s, Kihei with Neto Peraza & Barbara Singer! I really missed the energy of their live music on Maui for a few weeks – almost a month – due to mainland visits every other weekend and then the Hawaii Star Ball national competition (Oahu) the first week of October! While travelling, I did some salsa dancing in Los Angeles & Santa Cruz, CA (awesome dancers there, too) and of course, LOTS of dancing in Oahu at the competition!

I was most proud of my 7 students who danced Pro-Am (with me) and as Am-Am couples; they brought home 27 GOLD medals and 3 SILVER medals to Maui! Congratulations to Leslie Grimes & Julie Katz, Ron Rinaldi & Lynette Zakabi, Jack Berberich & Deb Converse and Yukiko McClure (my only female student dancing Pro-Am with me!) MAHALO to Brian for taking photos for Private Image Dance Studio at the competition!

Meanwhile, tonight I got to do salsa and bachata with some of my favorite dancers at Lulu’s — Israel, Stephen, Jason & even Franz & I did an awesome lindy/jive! Great music, great dancing and great energy! It’s wonderful to be home!
